I work with charities, not for profit organisations, foundations, grant makers and philanthropists to “help you make a real difference” by working with you to solve problems, provide insights and overcome the many challenges that organisations face as they make an impact on the lives of their beneficiaries through a range of charity consultancy services.
That could be in strategic planning, team development, governance review and training, programme development, developing your giving as a philanthropist, supporting your funder plus offer, coaching and mentoring. To find out more contact me, I’m here to help you!
My approach as a charity consultant is to be a critical friend and support you to understand the issues, explore options and come up with solutions.
Through my consultancy services, my aim is to always leave all the members of your team, (Trustees, staff, volunteers) at the end of any engagement with a real sense of ownership of any new plans, programmes, processes etc. with a focus on the future and a clear understanding of how to build on the work we will have done together and achieve long lasting outcomes for your beneficiaries.

I have over 25 years of experience in the cultural, charity and education sectors and now have a portfolio of consultancy and philanthropy support activities. My background in programme management and organisational development means I can support organisations to develop and overcome problems. My experience and knowledge of grant making, fundraising and major donor relationship management means I am able to support organisations, companies and individuals with their philanthropic journey. I have worked for both large and small charities across the arts, grant making, disability, volunteering, youth development and environmental areas across the UK.
As Head of Programmes at the London Community Foundation I advised and supported many senior leadership teams in charities and social enterprises, as they grew their organisations. During my time there I built the Programme Team and processes to raise and deliver over £6 million of grants, along with impact tools that enabled the foundation to produce its first Impact Report in 2018.
Previous work has involved delivering the business planning and reporting processes for Friends of the Earth, delivering changes to the Regional Team and managing relationships with the government departments at Youth Music along with developing the volunteering strategy and projects for Action for Hearing Loss. I was a National Volunteer for The Scout Association leading their Scout Fellowship section through major change.
During my time as Deputy Chair of Trustees for the National Youth Jazz Collective I took action to move the organisation forward following the sudden demise of the Chair at a time of significant capacity and governance issues. Through careful leadership and the appointment of an external consultant I persuaded the Board to adopt a new management structure and income generation proposal that enabled the organisation to appoint a new CEO and remain as one of ACE national portfolio organisations and have a clear strategic plan for the development of its work across England.
